TOITU TE MOANA, TOITU TE TANGATA

SUSTAINABILITY OF THE SEA. SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PEOPLE.

The Western Bay sub-region is transitioning to a higher value economy.  Last year the region enjoyed a 4.7 per cent growth of knowledge-intensive businesses, outstripping the national average of 2.1 per cent and we are increasingly seeing the development of a comprehensive innovation ecosystem in the region.*

An innovation showcase

To highlight the contribution of the marine biotechnology sector on our region and country’s continued growth, as part of this year’s convention we have an extensive Innovation showcase programme for Delegates.  This programme features both off-site tours of key industry sectors across the region and an on-site Innovation Hub.
